Chanderi Bagru Hand-block print Saree
SKU: SR-CH-BHB-011
Chanderi, which is amongst the best known handloom clusters, occupies a special place because of its centuries old weaving specialty of producing finely textured fabrics of silk and cotton embellished with zari woven work, and more specifically because of its sarees that have been patronized by royalty.
This art form hails from the village called Bagru which is close to the pink city of India, Jaipur.
The beauty of the bagru block print lies with the motifs which are big, bold and are often geometric.
Bagru hand block is generally printed on an indigo or dyed background and the dyeing process producing a reddish black shade- with wild flowers, buds and foliage provides inspiration to the printers of Bagru.
